HC allows media to report New Delhi : The Delhi High Court on March 22, Friday , allowed the media to cover the day-to-day proceedings of the court during the trial of the December 16 Delhi Gangrape case, in the saket Fast track court. With this the court has set aside the media advisory issued by the police not to report the court proceedings and order of the trial court.
Justice Rajiv Shakdher, while heeding to the appeal of the journalists who sought an open trial instead of an in-camera one, has said that the fast track court can permit one represenatve from each accredited national dailies.
At the same time, the court has laid down certain conditions like the media men would not disclose the name of the victim, her family members or witnesses. They are also supposed to exclude that part of the proceeds which the court directs them not to report.
