Udupi: The Udupi District Farmers’ Association (Udupi Zilla Krushika Sangha) is organising a farmers’ convention ‘Raitha Samavesha– 2017″ on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Sri Sharada Mantap, Kunjibettu, here.
Addressing the media persons at Hotel Udupi Residency Hotel here, President of Udupi district Krishika Sangha Ramakrishna Sharma Bantakal said that the convention would be held from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm and around 5000 people were expected to participate. An awareness seminar on farming and exhibition would be inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alvas Organisation, Moodabidri, he informed. Na Karanth Peraje, Co-editor of Adige paper will deliver the key note address.
On the occasion Ramachandra Bhat, K Manjunath Nayak, Wilfred Mendonca, Bharathi Shetty and Shanker Poojary Kenja will be felicitated. There will be three interaction programmes by famous agriculturists during the convention.
Information and awareness on profitable farming will be given by agriculture scientists, researchers. Modern technological farming machines, farming related articles and papers, different categories of seeds and plants will be kept on sale.
These apart, information on various loan facilities by the government will be given by ZP CEO Priyanka Mary Francis in the afternoon session.
