Udupi DC’s office wears deserted look as employees abstain work flaying attack on DC

Udupi: The employees of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Udupi remained absence for duty, as a mark of resentment against attack on Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Village Accountant by illegal sand miners in Kundapur.

The staff of the DC’s office, while condemning the attempt to murder on the DC and others, have urged the police department to nab the culprits at the earliest. The employees of the revenue department have compromised their leave to remain absent for duty on Tuesday, so as to fight for justice.

The employees from all the six taluks of Udupi district have congregated to Udupi DC’s office to take part in the protest organised here. The protesters have said that their stir will intensify depending on the action taken by the government.

It may be recalled that Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, Assistant Commissioner Shilpa Nag and Village Accountant Kantharaju were attacked by the illegal sand miners in Kundapur, when the trio undertook a raid to the illegal sand mining spots couple of days ago.The incident has grabbed national headlines.
