Udupi : Appropriate measure were undertaken to ensure the smooth conduct of the S.S.L.C examinations which commenced today, March 30 and will conclude on April 12 across the district.
In Udupi district, a prohibitory order has been promulgated till April 13 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. within a radius of 200 meters around the 52 examination centers. Meanwhile all the photocopying xerox centers within this radius too have been directed to be closed half an hour prior to the examinations.
The examinations will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm except for Hindi examination which is held till 12 noon.
A total of 15,583 students, of which 7,213 are boys and 7,158 are girls and 1,212 private ones are appearing for the SSLC examinations in Udupi district.
All the examination centers have been equipped with CCTV cameras and use of mobile phones by the staff is totally prohibited. Vigilance squads too have been constituted to check malpractice during the examinations.
The question papers and answer papers will be distributed separately this time. Also the students will not be allowed to enter the examination room, unlike in the past, when students were allowed to come till half an hour after the examination began. The question papers will be distributed after the third and final bell.
