Udupi: Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, on Monday demanded a CBI investigation into the lottery scam which has seen involvement of the higher officials’ of police department.
Addressing the media, she alleged that nearly 38 police officers were involved in the scam, to protect some men. The State government is trying hard to divert the case towards an innocent man and dismiss the Additional Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar.
“The CID investigation will not work in this case since top politicians and police officers were involved in it. She questioned the government for staying ignorant of this issue, even after the intelligence division, under the government informed the government, they did nothing to stop the scam. The Chief Minister and Home Minister should be held responsible for the scam” she demanded.
She added that Bengaluru was once again becoming the hub of illegal activities and rowdism.
Regarding national issues, the MP said, “border security is the priority of the nation. India does have border issues with the neighboring countries. Long pending India- Bangladesh border issue will be sorted with the ‘Indo-Bangladesh Border Bill 2015’ which helps both the nation to have their particular land and fence the border”.
