Udupi: Malpe beach visitors witnessed a carnival of sorts on February 11. “Seazzle”- A blend of Food and Beach, a culinary and music festival was organised by Mantra Travel and Tourism Development Company jointly with Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Research, WGSHA, Manipal University.

The event attracted around 2000 visitors -both families and students from the neighbouring towns.

There were food stalls by DOCA , performance by live bands and artistes and various other attractions like photo booths and handicraft counters. The stalls had a variety of food that included starters, main course, desserts as well as mocktails. To ensure that they catered to the needs of every visitor, the menu consisted of vegetarian and non- vegetarian options including sea food.

Various artistes like Bombay Karma, Flick and Rijul and Band played fine music that added to the serene ambience of the beach. From an acoustic night to a Bollywood dance party, Seazzle changed colours like the setting sun. In fact, visitors also said that the ambience at the beach resembled an international beach carnival!

This event acted as a means to develop and promote tourism at the Malpe beach and the other attractions nearby. It also facilitated the students to enhance their event organising, crowd management, service quality management and stress handling skills. Seazzle on the whole, was not just about food and music, it was a complete experience in itself that benefitted every visitor as well as the organisers.
