Elderly woman still missing after three weeks

Kundapur: Sathish Shetty a native of Kundapur has registered a missing complaint of his mother recently. It has been almost 20 days after the resident of Charu Kottige, Malathi reportedly went missing mysteriously on June 24 Korgi, Kundapur Taluk, Udupi District.
Elderly woman still missing after three weeks-1Malathi Shetty (65) wife of Bhaskar Shetty had left home saying that she was going to the neighbours house but did not return. Family members tried to find out about her but their efforts were in vain. Even the fire service and locals as well tried to trace her but failed in finding her.

Her son Sathish Shetty currently working in the US, flew back to his native after having found out about his missing mother. In a panicked situation, he has searched her all over in Sringeri, Dharmasthala, Subramanya and many temples and public places but could not find her.

He met the Udupi commissioner Annamalai and asked for help in tracing his mother. A special team has been formed under DySP Manjunath Shetty and SI Nasir. Police department too failed in their operation and now have the public for their help in finding her.

When she went missing she is said to have worn her mangalsutra, four bangles, a ring, and a nose ring together summing up to Rs 4 lakhs all of which she wears on a daily basis. Police and family members suspect that somebody might have kidnapped her.

Malathi is 5.5 ft tall, of fair complexion, round face and wore a cream white saree with a baby pink blouse when went missing. She speaks a Kundapur dialect of Kannada.
