Udupi: On the occasion of Kollur Mookambika Ashtami today, Raghaveshwara Bharathi, the seer of Ramachandrapur Mutt was not invited as per the orders of Muzrai Department.

He has been performing the special offering called ‘Adhivasa Pooja’, ‘Sthapana Kalashabhisheka’ and ‘Pada Pooje’ on the occasion at Kollur since 2006. The Muzrai department this time did not invite him as there was an ongoing rape case which is sub-judice, against the seer.

N?S?Kantharaju, devotee approached the High Court to seek its permission for the  pooja to be performed by the seer. The court dismissed the petition on Saturday. On the other side Sridhar Adiga main priest of the Kollur temple approached Udupi District court and seek permission to perform pooja.

Udupi court ordered that ‘the temple administration head Krishnaparsad Adyantaya, s/o Shubba Shetty should not interfere in the pooja’ performed by Raghaveshwara Bharathi, the seer of Ramachandrapur Mutt, however court order did not restrict authorities as a whole. So there was a chance that other temple authorities may stop the seer from offering the pooja.

It was said that Sri Kollur Mookambika temple is established by the seer Shankaracharya himself and Ramachandrapur mutt belongs to seer Sri Shankaracharya tradition.  So Raghaveshwara Bharathi, has maintained a long standing relationship with kollur temple and most of the priests here are his juniors.
