Manipal: The sprawling Manipal University campus, recently got a special security team called, “Quick Reaction Team”.
Sixty of the existing securitymen have been hand-picked to form the team which will give more teeth to security on the campus. “The team has been put together to handle unforeseen crisis requiring immediate action,” said Dr Prabhudeva Mane, Chief Operating Officer, Campus Safety.
All 60 will undergo special training to control any sort of untoward incident that may crop up all of a sudden. Besides, it is also a confidence building exercise for the students, who can call up the COO for any sort of help on the campus.
“Depending on the need, we will ensure that the required number of QRT men will reach a trouble spot in quick time to take care of the situation,” Dr Mane said.Pro Chancellor, Dr H.S. Ballal launched the QRT.
