Udupi: The NSS Unit of Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences celebrated “Librarians day” in commemoration of Dr.S.R. Ranganathan’s 123rd Birthday.
As a tribute to this great personality, his birthday has been observed as librarian’s day.
The Resource person of the Day, Dr. Shivananda Bhat K, Associate Professor and Coordinator, Department of Library & Information Sciences, KMC Manipal, demonstrated how to use PubMed Database and other Medical Database and how to use it in literary search at the event.
He highlighted information on literacy and how librarians provide information to the user community in a very meticulous way. Dr. Sathyanarayana Bhat, principal of the Institute adviced the students to use the Digital Library available in the institute at the occasion.
Mrs.Yogini, Librarian of the Institute spoke about Librarian’s Day and Mrs.Jyothi, Librarian of the Institute, introduced the newly installed Easylib Software in the Library.
The program was compered by Sachin. Vinaya welcomed the gathering and the programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Neha.
Dr. Pradeep, NSS Officer of the institute was also present at the programme.
