Five Nepali citizens working as security guards held in theft case

Udupi: Five Nepali citizens were arrested in a silver theft case by the Udupi DCIB police and various silver ornaments recovered near here on September 19.

About six months ago, a jewellery theft case was registered by Shiroor Gold Palace in Byndoor Police Station limits which was finally cracked by the DCIB with the arrest of the Nepalis who were working as security guards in fast food hotels and reportedly indulged in theft during night time.

The accused are Shivasingh Bahadhur Shivprem, Kamar Singh Saud Dukiya, Ramesh Singh Parki, Harki Bahadhur Saud and Bahadhur Saud are natives of Silgadi district of Dibahil taluk from Nepal.

The total value of silver ornaments recovered is Rs 1,80,000. The recovered ornaments have been transferred to Byndoor Police station.

A team led by DCIB Sampath Kumar, ASI Rosario D’Souza, Ravichandra and staff Sureshchandra Shetty, Ramu Hegde, Raghavendra Uppunda, Praveen, Rajkumar Byndoor, Santhosh Kumar, Dayananda Prabhu, Raghavendra and Shivananda under the direction of Udupi SP Dr. Sanjeev Patil and Kundapur DySP Praveen H Nayak carried out the operation.
