Udupi : The ‘Brahmakalashotsava’ in connection to the renovation of the ‘Pauli’ or the platform around the sanctum sanctorum of the 800-year-old Sri Krishna Math will be held from May 14 to 18.

Addressing the media persons at Sri Krishna Math, here on Friday, April 28, Paryaya Pejawar Math seer Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji released the invitation for Brahamakalashotsava and said that the much-awaited renovation of the Pauli was in final stages and the work was delayed due to shortage of wood supplies.

The Pauli renovation had become imperative because the wood used centuries ago had worn off leaving behind the wooden pillars in bad state. The workers working on the renovation have promised to complete the work before May 14, he said adding that the cost of the renovation has reached Rs 2.8 cr and over 50 carpenters are working in three teams to give artistic look to the pauli. This time, he said, the height of the roof too has been increased for better ventilation.

As part of the inauguration of the pauli, host of cultural and religious prgrammes will be held from May 14 to 18. The political leaders, both from the state and the centre will participate during the Brahmakalashotsav.
