BD activists put behind bar for barging into house, assaulting women

Karkala: Following an incident of a gang of Bajrang Dal activists barging into a house at Durga village here and assaulting women, cases have been registered against eight persons with the rural police.

Raghavendra, an employee of the local MLA’s office is the prime accused in the case. Rest of them have been identified as Sandeep, Sunil, Nagaraju, Chandrahas, Santhosh and Prakash.

It is said that on Sunday evening these men came together and executed a well-planned plot. They first created noise that the house they were targeting was functioning as an abattoir and then barged into the house.

In the demonic act, Hayathbi (50) suffered injuries and when she raised alarm, locals rushed to the house and nabbed couple of the attackers.

It is also said that prime accused Raghavendra from Miyar had also orchestrated attacks on locals named Shadath, Abid, Sukur, Harshad and others.

A total of ten persons from both factions have been arrested ao far.
