Karkala : Extra curricular activities like sports boost children in their student life, said Ex MLA Gopal Bhandary at the valedictory function of Taluk level volleyball competition at Prakruthi high school here on September 2.
Karkala ASP Annamalai, a special guest at the function, said that students should participate in sports activities and develop discipline, patience and organisational power in them which will help them to succeed in their life.
District panchayat member Supreeth shetty, Vidya institution administrative board member Shanti Prasad Hegde, Louis Coelho, District physical education association vice president Ananda shetty, Taluk Physical education officer Babu Poojary, Institution president Christin Jerald crasta, Administrative officer Ashok Kumar K, Principal Raghavendra shenoy and Gajanan Bhat were present.
In the boys section, SNV High school Hiriyangady won first prize and Junior college Palli got second prize. In the girls section, Govt pre university college Bailoor got first prize and the Govt high school Nallur won second prize. Prizes were distributed by the guests to the winners.
The prayer was recited by Student Shravya. Principal Gajanan Bhat welcomed the gathering. Vice principal Veena Shedikaje rendered vote of thanks. Lecturers Ramakrishna Heggade and Vinayak Jog compered the programme.
