Udupi: Co-chairman of Committee for Social Justice president Uday Kotian has taken charge as Udupi Jilla Panchayath President here on July 25.
He will remain as the president of Jilla panchayath till the election for President and Vice president’s post is held as per the Panchayath Raj Act on September 17.
Former president Upendra Nayak handed over the post to the newly elected president.
Jilla panchayath Chief executive M Kanagavalli, secretary Pranesh Rao, Vijayakumar Shetty were present.
