Udupi: Shobha Karandlaje, MP on Monday said collection of Highway tolls will not be allowed until 95% of the NH work is done. In Udupi out of a total 65 kms, a 56 km stretch from Kundapur to Hejmady road widening will be finished by the end of May and remaining the 9 km stretch will be completed by the end of December.

The MP who addressing  press persons added that out of 9 major bridges works in the district, 7 are about to finish and be released for the plying of the vehicles shortly. The remaining one at Udyavara will be completed by the end of April, however the Kallianpur Bridge may take some more time to finish, she said.

Regarding the Kasturirangan Panel’s Report said State government should understand that the survey report should be submitted to the Green Tribunal of the Supreme Court by April 15.  CM and his government are busy in ridiculing things. It is high time to take the issue seriously as it is concerning the life of poor villagers. She demanded that the State should follow the Kerala model and consider public opinion at the grass root level on this issue.

As assured earlier the State government failed to provide Anthyodaya cards to the BPL card holders. However in the name of Anthyodaya cards,  the supply of rice and wheat is stopped to BPL cards.
