Udupi: The Student Islamic Organization staged a protest in front of the Clock tower on Thursday, December 18, condemning the brutal massacre that took place in the Pakistan army school.

Addressing the protest, Prasanna, one of the activists said that Gandhi’s democracy lies in the non-violence. Now, in the modern world freedom of speech and expression has been misunderstood or they tend to forget the real value of independence.

“Peace cannot be achieved in the path of violence so as blaming one another will also not help us. Unity in diversity is the motto of democracy especially in our land”, he added.

He further said that targeting innocent children is not justified by any means, children are equal to God, they are not under the discernment of cast or creed. It is a heinous crime to kill the innocent lives for gaining political motives. There is a need to put an end to all these atrocities, he added.

Prof. K Paniraj, thinker said India should strongly condemn to such incidents. Observing two minutes silence in schools would not be an appropriate reply. He alleged that Pakistan and its fake democratic system of governance should be responsible for this incident.
