State govt responds to locals plea; Belman gets 108 ambulance service

Belman: The much demanded 108 service has finally arrived in Belman. It was a long pending demand from the locals.

The service can be utilised by people from Nandalike, Mundkur, Saccharipete, Bola. Earlier the natives of all these places had to suffer as there was no ambulance at the time of emergency.

The then Lok Sabha member Jayaprakash Hegde and local representatives like Xavier D’Mello, Supreeth Shetty and other social activists had urged Health minister U T Khader to provide a 108 ambulance to Belman.

Now the dream has come true.

On Wednesday, when the ambulance arrived at the Belman primary health centre, local district panchayat members Supreeth Shetty, Taluk panchayath member Xavier D’Mello, Health centre officer Dr Sathish, Nurse Usha and locals welcomed it.

108 staff AMT Hanuman Reddy Belgavi, Tilak Chikmagalur, driver Mahantesh Belgavi, Santhosh Belgavi were also welcomed.

Social activist Ravi, Rajesh Salian, Devendra Nayak, Murlidhar Jogi, Vishwanath Patkar, Nityananda Shetty Peralpade, Jaya Poojary, Joyson Dsouza, Shrinivas Bhandary were also present on the occasion.
