Udupi: The three-day festival of the renowned Shrine of St Lawrence in Attur- Karkala began with a grand celebration on Tuesday January 27 and concluded today on January 29.
The historical shrine of St Lawrence at Attur-Karkal fills the devotees with spirit of God, during this season.
The visitors are seen devoutly visiting the relic of St Lawrence, confessing their sins, and visiting the pool at the shrine and receiving flowers and holy water in the shrine. A large number of priests were seen laying hands on the devotees and praying for the health and happiness of the devotees.
CM Siddaramaiah in his visit to Attur Church on the annual feast celebrations said that the government had allotted Rs 2.5 crore to the feast celebrations of the Church. He added that the festival of St Lawrence Shrine Attur is significant for the togetherness and peace among all religion.
Udupi Diocese Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Shrine Rector Fr George D’Souza and many other priests were present during the visit of the Chief minister.
