Udupi: The Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurated various development projects under the Suvarna Gramodyaya Yojane at Hebri on Sunday April 26.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said that importance will be given to the upgradation of Gram Panchayaths into Town Panchayaths and this will be implemented in the Gram Panchayath election.
He added that from the previous manifesto out of 165 assurances, 95 are fulfilled. The Congress government gives priority to the farmers, self-help groups are given all possible aids to bring self-sufficiency among women, he added.
The programmes like Revenue Adalath, Pension Adalath, Annabhagya, Akrama-Sakrama are to cater poverty in the state, he mentioned.
He assured that the people need not panic due to the implementation of Tiger Reserve project, the project would be opposed. With regards to the Kasturirangan report, he said that wrong impression was created in this issue, villagers will not be affected by the recommendation.
The minister added that the multi village drinking water scheme in Hebri would be completed immediately. He said as many as 100 houses would be built in Chara village, he added.
