Udupi: Social activist Vishu Shetty from Udupi rescued two sisters who were living in a house without proper food and basic facilities for decades.
The rescued are identified as Narsi and Muttu from Pitrody who belong to dalit community.
Having nobody to take care of them, severely malnourished sisters lived in a darkened room with limited food they got from few neighbors.
Vishnu Shetty, a social activist from Ambalpady based on credible information regarding women, visited the house along with neighbors and rescued them here on Monday. Later they were shifted to the district hospital at Ajjarkad in a ambulance.
He has already informed the president of State Women’s Commission in this regard and has assured support.
