Rathna Kotari case; CPM demands arrest of culprits

Udupi: The CPM taluk unit of Udupi held a protest to fasten the probe of the mysterious death of Rathna Kotari, near clock tower Udupi service bus stand on July 24.

The protestors said that, before we could forget the death of Sowjanya and the Manipal gang rape incident, this incident has happened.

Day by day assaults on women are increasing, they are treated badly and their vulgar pictures are been uploaded on web, which creating a havoc in the society, said the party during the protest.

Moreover the protestors also agitated over the inefficiency of the police in nabbing the accused, they said even after finding Rathna’s body the police have failed to trace the accused. Thus they urged the district administration to arrest the accused immediately.

Police should take precautions so that in future these incidents may not repeat.

During the protest they also pleaded to the government to provide a job to Rathna’s brother who is working in Bangalore.

In the protest CPM Taluk secretory P Vishwanatha Rai, leaders Balakrishna Shetty, Laxman, sadashiva Poojary, Pushpa Mallaru, Sujatha Shetty, Umesh Kundar, Kaviraj and Vidyaraj were present.
