Udupi: A protest was organized by Udupi Citizens Forum in front of the Clock Tower, seeking justice against uncertain suspension given to the pathologist, Dr Sharath Rao, who was serving in the Blood Bank at the District Government Hospital.
Medical Director of A V Baliga Memorial Hospital, Dr P V Bhandary addressed the agitation, here on Sunday October 19.
He said that Dr Sharath Rao, Blood Bank Officer at District Government Hospital, Ajjarkad is known for his humanitarian service towards the poor. The Karnataka State Government recognizing his service has honoured him with prestigious awards.
However. recently, the hospital had suspended him without any show-cause notice, moreover, he has also not received his salary, he added.
The forum has decided to give some more time to the government, and on November 1 will decide further course of action, Dr P V Bhandary mentioned.
Suspension order dismissed – MLA Madhwaraj
MLA Pramodh Madhwaraj said that the government had already decided to withdraw his suspension. However, before the completion of the formalities, Sharath appealed before KAT (Karnataka Administrative Tribunal). Now the State government is waiting for the KAT order, said Madhwaraj
He added that he will hold talks with the health minister as well as the secretary and would request him to to consider the revoking of suspension order at the earliest.
