Udupi: Police Commemoration Day was held with all respect at Chandu Maidan here on Tuesday October 21.
Pattan Shetty, DC, after paying tribute to those policemen who had sacrificed their lives while on duty, said that police are the need of the society. Government should provide all the possible help to the families of the police men who sacrifice thier life for the welfare of the public. We can’t imagine a life without police department. They are the peace keepers. The crime and the violence will not have a limit if there is no one to control it.
Rajendra Prasad, SP said that 651 police men who sacrificed their life from 2013 Aug 1st to 2014 Sep 31 was remembered on the occasion.
Annamalai, Asp Karkala, Prabhudev Mane, DySp, Santosh Kumar, Jayakar Suvarna, president of Working journalist association and others paid tribute to the memorial.
