Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA joining the hunger drive organized by Komu Souharda Vedike on the occasion of 67th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on January, 30th, at the Gandhi statue at Clock Tower, said that the modern society needs principles of Mahatma Gandhi
The MLA added that there are a few people in the society who wanted to create communal violence in the name of religion caste and creed. Mahatma’s contributions to the ideals of secularism are immense. “Gandhiji believed in Unity in diversity”, he added.
He said that rather than preserving his ideas we need to implement it for the sake of peace and unity in the society.
G Rajashekar, President, Komu Souharda Vedike said that it is high time to spread the ideologies of Gandhi among masses.
