Kaup: One person was killed and three were injured in a Lorry-tempo collision here at Udyavar junction on National highway 66.
The deceased is identified as Ramesh(35), from Bijapura who was driving tempo. Cleaner Laxman, lorry driver Riyazuddin and cleaner Mohammad Fatil were injured in the mishap.
The incident took place here at 4am. Kaup police rushed to the spot and driver who was trapped inside the tempo was removed and was taken to the hospital. But he could not respond to the doctors and breathed his last at the hospital.
The mishap caused a traffic jam till 8 am. The wooden pieces carried on the tempo fell and scattered on the road and it took hours to clear the road.
The exact reason for the collision is not yet known.
Kaup police have registered a case and are further investigating the matter.
