Udupi: Gas cylinder leakage sparked a fire and reduced a house to ashes at Chitpadi on Tuesday, January 27.
A house belonging to Sadananda Aithal was completely burnt because of the gas leakage. No casualties were reported as the fire service reached on time.
The incident took place in the morning when Sadananda Aithal’s family member switched on the gas stove. Neighbours immediately informed the fire service.
The rooftop of the house, furniture and other items were burnt to ashes within no time.
Local leaders and Udupi Tahsildar Gurprasad visited the spot.
