Udupi: Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje has said that a high-level inquiry should be conducted into the recent communal chaos in Gangolli.
Speaking to the media persons here at the BJP office on Friday, 23 January, the MP said that the state government should give enough freedom to the policemen to control any terror incidents such as Gangolli riots in the district.
The government should not take the issue lightly assuming that it was a communal violence rather the incident is posing a terror threat, she added.
She said that riots and arson incident reported in the past two days were not the work of local people. “It is the work of culprits from Bhatkal, who want to divert the attention away from the terror incidents in the proximity,” she said.
The State government should take measures to establish peace and order in the region, she added.
