Dean successfully finishes ‘buried alive’ act

Udupi: In the midst of hundreds of exited audience Dean Gunnarson, Canadian escape artiste, successfully finished his ‘buried alive’ act, in a metal coffin for 24 hours at Christian PU College grounds here on Sunday.

Mr. Gunnarson with his hands and neck tied was buried in a locked coffin here on Saturday at 6.35 p.m. People waited in almost near silence to watch Mr. Gunnarson come out of the box and then from about three to four feet of soil over it. First, one of his hands was seen coming out. Then he slowly came up to loud cheers from the crowd.

While addressing the audience, he said that public support gave him more courage to escape, he thanked all from the depth of his heart, “I always believe in nothing is impossible”, he stated.

To media he said that he had to be in a dark box without food for 24 hours. “My love for family and friends lead me to this success” he added.

Professor Shankar and Shankar Junior of Gili Gili Magic wished him good luck.
