Karkala: Four persons of a family committed suicide by jumping into a well here on August 25 at Bajagoli Mudar village in Garadigudde.
The deceased are Jaya Madivala(43), Gulabi Madivalti(33), Harshitha(6), Manvith(3).
Dispute among the couple said to be the reason behind suicide, sources said.
Jaya Madivala was a daily wage worker and used to take alchohol. Everyday couple used to fight. On August 25th, when Jaya Madival came to house at 2.30pm he didnot find wife and children. So when he started searching for them he found his daughter’s body in the well. So he too jumped into the well.
Wife and children might have committed suicide before 2pm say police sources.
Fire service team under station officer Naveen recovered the bodies from the well which was 35ft deep.
Tahshildar Raghavendra, ASP Annamalai, Circle inspector Naykar, Rural SI Mahadeva Shetty and others came to the spot.
A case has been registered in Rural police station.
