Udupi: Udupi District Mahila Congress organised Christmas celebration at the Congress Bhavan here on December 20.
On the occasion, former MP Jayaprakash Hegde said that unlike any caste and creed, equality is the motto of our party. We are happy to celebrate Christmas like we celebrate Diwali and Ramadan.
He added that there is one God, just difference is between the beliefs and rituals, and an equal respect and importance should be given to all the religions in the society.
Udupi City municipal council president Yuvaraj, ZP members Ida Gibba D’Souza, Gopi K Naika, Mallika Poojary, Mallika Ashok, Sarala Kanchan, Jayashree Krishnaraj, Sarasu D Bangera other were present on the occasion.
