Karkala: Even as chief minister Siddaramaiah was seeking divine blessings of Lord Venkateshwara in Thirupathi, on Tuesday, his close confidante and excise minister Satish L Jarkiholi, resigned from the cabinet. However the CM addressing the reporters at the helipad in Swaraj Maidan here on Wednesday said that his resignation would not be accepted without discussions.
The CM who is in town to participate in the ongoing Mahamastakabhisheka of lord Bahubali said that before accepting the resignation we will have a meeting with other party leaders and then take a decision.
“We will not accept Jarkiholi’s resignation so soon. We will hold discussions and then take a decision. I spoke to him last night and will do so again this evening. We will convince him to take back the resignation,” he said.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah was present on the eighth day of the Mastakabhisheka of Bahubali, historic jain event, which is being held in Karkala. He said, “Mastakabhisheka is the symbolic festival of Bhahubali’s sacrifice and peace, all are bound to follow his ideologies. This festival is significant as it comes once in 12 years.”
There are only four places where we have Bhahubali temple that is in Karkala, Dharmasthala, Venoor and Shravana Belagola.
While speaking about Deve Gowdas’s comments on his visit to Thirupathi, he said, “I have never said that I am a rationalist, in-fact I believe in God. Former CM is trying to exaggerate the matter”, he said.
