BJP leader assaults woman; case registered

Karkala: A case has been registered at Ajekaru police station against BJP minority unit secretary and two other persons in connection with a physical assault and death threat to a woman in Karkala.

Zeenath (40) a resident near Yennehole Radha Nayak High school complained to the police alleging assault on her.

Mohammad Meera Abbas (40), Sharwan (42) and Khader (43) are the accused in this case.

It is learnt that Ibrahim was threatened by neighbour Mohammad Meera Abbas for constructing a compound wall on his own land. Mohammad had clicked a photo of Ibrahim and threatened of complaining to the police. On the same day evening at 4.30 Mohammad entered the house of Ibrahim along with two of his aides. He allegedly abused and assaulted Zeenat and escaped from the spot when the neighbours gathered.

The injured Zeenath has been admitted at the nearby private hospital.
