Moodbidri: Having come to watch a normal game of cricket at the newly created cricket ground in Swaraj Maidan here, spectators were in for a different surprise altogether with nature deciding to play its own game.
It is learnt that a whirlwind, lasting for around five minutes, disrupted an ongoing cricket match, part of a tournament organized by Eleven Cricketers, here at 2 pm on Monday, February 13 and took the people by surprise who watched in bated breath as the dust started moving swiftly in a cylindrical pattern.
Whirlwinds have been witnessed in this area previously too but the significant feature of Monday’s phenomenon was the sheer force of the wind and the reddish hue the whirlwind gathered from the dust in the playground.
