Tumakuru: In a shocking incident, a botany associate professor of Tumkur University committed suicide after consuming sleeping tablets on Tuesday, June 28.
The deceased professor AL Ravikala (51) was a resident of Sapthagiri extension in Tumakuru town. She had consumed many sleeping tablets and was rushed to Adarsh hospital in the city where she failed to respond to treatment.
Family feud seems to be the prime reason behind her action. It is said, there were frequent fights between Ravikala and her husband, Mahendra, a private sector employee.
Jayanagar police have registered a case.
