Tumakuru: The Tumakuru police on Wednesday arrested three persons on the charge of stripping and assaulting a Dalit youth.
A video of a group of people stripping a youth and garlanding him with slippers at an unknown place in Gubbi, Tumakuru district, went viral on WhatsApp.
The arrested have been identified as Kaduprakash, Maruthi and Ramesh, all residents of Gubbi. Search is on for two more persons involved in the incident, Superintendent of Police Isha Pant told reporters. The youth told the police that the group targeted him since he was in contact with a high school girl over phone for the past three months. The father of the girl is also one of the prime accused in the case.
