Dublin: The new National Train Enquiry System (NTES) mobile app for Android devices is free to download, and is listed on Google Play.

CRIS is an IT wing of railways that had earlier launched the NTES app for Windows Phone 8 platform in August 2014.

With the help of this app, the users can also check the current position and expected time of arrival and departure of their train at a particular station. This can be done using the feature ‘spot your train’ of this app.

Other features that can be used with this app are ‘train schedule,’ ‘trains between stations,’ ‘live station’ and ‘information on cancelled rescheduled & diverted trains.’ ‘Live Station’ query provides list of trains expected to arrive at/depart from any station in next 2 or 4 hours.

The National Train Enquiry System (NTES) is a comprehensive system which provides information to public about train running on near real time basis through various interfaces like nationwide unique rail enquiry number 139, website, mobile interfaces, touch screens, counter enquiry and display boards at stations. CRIS has now made available its app for the two most commonly used platforms – Windows Phone 8 and Android.
