Shivamogga: An artiste from Muslim community who posted a photo along with Sri Ram Sene Convenor Pramod Muthalik on social media drew flak and was assaulted and threatened by unknown men.
Music director and Tabla player Rashid Khan was threatened of murder after he uploaded a photo with Pramod Muthalik. Recently Rashid had participated in a book release in Bengaluru where Peamod Muthalik too was present. Impressed by Rashid’s performance, Muthalik had felicitated the artiste. Rashid had posted a photo of the same on social media.
Within days after it was uploaded on Facebook, it was widely criticised on social media. Following backlash, Rashid deleted the post. On Tuesday, Rashid was waylaid by four unknown bike-borne men, abused and threatened.
Rashid has informed the Tunga Nagar police about the incident.
Rashid who trained under Puttaraja Gawai Gharana of Gadag is an upcoming talent from Shivamogga. Along with classical music performances he has also provided background score for films. His own album “Dreamdoll” is awaiting release.
