One of the most expected films of Sandalwood, “Thugs of Malgudi” will go on floors in June. The film has been in the news since two years after Sudeep asked Rakshit Shetty to direct a film for him after watching “Ulidavaru Kandanthe”.
The plot will be set in the pre-independence era. Sudeep will be playing the lead role in the film. Rakshit Shetty will also be seen in pivotal role in the film along with Achyuth Kumar. Other than these three, the film will have newcomers. In all probability, the film will be backed by Rakshit Shetty’s production house.
“Thugs” were gangs charged with of robberies and murders by the British and exterminated in the 19th Century. Aamir is also working on a similar film titled “Thugs of Hindostan”, which is set for release during 2018 Diwali season. However, by that time, it is likely that “Thugs of Malgudi” would have been released.
