Yash starrer ‘KGF’, which will be made at a humongous budget of Rs 40 crores was launched at Panchamukhi Ganesha temple in Mahalakshmi Layout on June 9. The shooting of the film will commence this month end.
Said to be a drama-action thriller, the film will be directed by Prashanth Neel, who is known for his blockbuster ‘Ugramm’. Produced under Hombale Creations, the film has been in pre-production stage from the past year and a half.
Bhuvan Gowda is the cinematographer while Ravi Basrur has been roped in as the music director.
Yash will join the shooting only after completing ‘Santhu Straight Forward’. ‘KGF’ is said to be based on real life characters of the 1970s. Except for the lead hero and a few other senior actors, the film will have mostly newcomers. A few people in the team are currently undergoing training since the last two months under Prashanth, who is making sure that they are confident to face the camera.
Initially it was speculated that Radhika Pandit or Rachitha Ram will play the female lead in the film. However, according to sources, the team may opt for a newcomer opposite Yash.
