A new film titled “Bellary Darbar” is all set for release. The movie will give a comprehensive picture of the plundering of minerals in the iron ore-rich areas of the district and how rampant mining activities left the region ravaged. The film will not focus on politicians and industrialists who were involved in the mining scam. 
The film is directed by Srinivas, who is popularly known as Smile Seenu. He had previously directed the 2012 Kannada film “Toofan” before moving to the Telugu film industry.The film’s team claims they received threat calls from some Bellary leaders asking them to stop making the film.
Sampath Kumar, Pola Srinivas Babu, Mamata Rawat, Aishwarya, Shubaraksha, Subhash Chandra, Aaji Babu Khan, Gandhiram, Nayana, Arun Kumar, Arjun, Gurunath, Chandran and students of Smile Silver Screen Institute have played important roles in the movie.
