Kasargod: A PUC student stole a mobile phone of a dental student and sent vulgar messages from the stolen phone to other numbers. He was arrested by the Vidyanagar police here. He has been identified as B H Elias (18), resident of Thekkila near Kasargod.
The phone belonged to a female dental student who had attended a wedding in the vicinity on April 23, when she found out that her phone was stolen. Subsequently, several indecent and vulgar messages were sent from her mobile phone to her classmates. The student naturally was perturbed and lodged a complaint with the Vidyanagar police. The police who traced the phone found that the mobile phone was not just stolen by Elias, but he was the one who was sending indecent messages to others. His attempt to sell the phone was foiled by the cops.
