Hunsur: The Periyapatna Police Station have cracked a murder case within 24 hours of the crime by arresting two sons for allegedly brutally murdering their father on March 19.
The deceased had been identified as Devarasaiah (48), son of Boovaiah, resident of Sanjeevinagar in Bilikere hobli in Hunsur taluk, the nabbed have been identified as Kendaganna and Shivalinga.
It is reported that one Irfan pasha, son of Dastagir, a resident of Halaganahalli in Periyapatna taluk, who came across the body of Devarasaiah wrapped in a gunny bag under a stone building on the banks of a lake in Halaganahalli informed the Police, who swung into action and arrested the two.
On examination, it was found that the dead person with bleeding injuries on his legs, broken ankle was Devarasaiah. The cops later arrested Kendaganna and Shivalinga and subjected them to interrogation during which the two reportedly confessed to have killed their father as he used to indulge in quarrels under the influence of liquor.
The two also confessed to have taken the body of Devarasaiah on an auto to a distance of about 80 kilometres and dumped it near Haranakatte lake near Halaganahalli in an effort to hide the crime.
The cops have also seized the boulder used for killing Devarasaiah and a goods auto (KA 45 7137) used for shifting the body from the site of the crime.
SP Abhinav Khare supervised Additional SP Kala Krishnaswamy, Hunsur Dy. SP D. Jayaram, Periyapatna Circle Inspector Prasanna Kumar, SI Anil Kumar Bettadapura SI Muddu Mahadevaiah, Bylakuppa SI Jayaswamy and others in the nabbing operation.
