Qatar: Hanan-India lifts Nation Cup Trophy

Doha: In a thrilling and electrifying Final, Nation Cup tournament Hanan-India team defeats Serendeb-Sri Lanka and lifts the Nation Cup tournament trophy here on Thursday evening at old Indian Ideal school ground.

The tournament has begun on December 10 with colorful opening ceremony. Pakistan Cricketer Mr. Kamran Akmal grace the opening ceremony as the guest of honor and Mr. Mana Ibrahim AlMana was chief guest of the day. This is the first time in Qatar, eight teams of five nations Qatar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka had come together to play for one tournament trophy.

The following teams participated in the whole day thrilling tournament in a good cool weather of Doha.1) Qadnet Qatar 2) BCT-Bangladesh 3) Hanan-India 4) Tusker-India 5) New Design Srilanks 6) Serendeb Srilanka 7) Qatari Diar Pakistan and 8) AKC Pakistan.

All eight teams were showed their performance on league matches; all the teams played good games in good sportsman spirit and also all the matches were very competitive. Serendeb beat the new design; meanwhile Hanan team beat Qadnet and entered into the final.

Winning the toss Serandeb elected to bowling and chase the target of Hanan 132 runs in 12 overs. But in the last over of Imran from Hanan, made them to fight tough and they had not succeeded to secure the score and Hanan-India becomes the champion. Imran from Hanan team bagged the Man of the series award, Ravoof hanan best catcher, Sarfaraz Qdnet Qatar best Bowler, and Noaman Qatari diar won best batsman awards.

The tournament followed a small valedictory function has been conducted; trophy & cash prize 7000QR awarded to champion team, and trophy & 4000QR runner up team.  Siraj Virani MD of Qad-Net Qatar was chief guest of the closing ceremony. QBC coordinator Salim Kaizer, Qdnet Marketing manager Ajith Kumar, tournament organizer Dr.Sanjay Kudri were present on the dias. Former ICC secretary Milan Arun compered the valedictory function. Tournament coordinator Imtiyaz Khan proposed vote of thanks.

Supporters enjoyed on ground with lots of fun, dance and celebration.
