Dubai: UAE’s renowned and leading Kabaddi team comprising Mangalorean youngsters, “New Mark Mangalore” team won three successive Kabaddi championship titles. The Kabaddi championship games held across UAE recently were organized by different organisers.
In the Black and white Kalluravi national level Kabaddi fest held at Abudhabi on 13th January, New Mark Mangalore won the championship beating Welfare Ponnai Kerala team.Black and White Kalluvariwere were pushed to the third spot.
Exact a week later on 20th January, in yet another challenging and exciting Kabaddi competition organised by Daliya Sports Club Kollam, New Mark Mangalore overcame twenty two other strong teams to win the Daliya Sports championship.
In the third championship organized by Red Star Dubai, New Mark Mangalore created history at UAE by winning the finals beating Sangha Niketan Kudurekod by convincing margin. Twenty four teams had fought against each other to garner Red Star title. New Mark Mangalore maintained lead from the start to take home Red Star trophy in the end.
Speaking to newskarnataka.com sponsor and manager of New Mark Mangalore team Noel Almeida expressed his happiness over the team’s excellent performance . He said, the team members really fought hard and their committed day practice sessions helped them to stay on top.
Noel Almeida, Kabaddi player himself had represented his side in many prestigious tournaments across India during early days. After shifting base, he developed a special passion for Kabaddi sport by building his own team in UAE. He named the team New Mark Mangalore and guided it with special skills honed by him. His team has won many prestigious tournaments to keep the Mangalore flag flying at many high end competitions.
