Dubai: Mogarnad Parishners had a day of fun and frolic at Zabeel Park, Dubai which will be etched in the memories of each and everyone gathered for a family get-together at Zabeel park on Friday, February 24.
Though the weather was cloudy and windy indicating a rainfall, the efforts of the organising team did not go in vain and a large number of parishners gathered as early as 9 am for their first ever celebration of Parish Feast here in UAE.
The day began with an invocation by Walter Lobo and his team. The celebrations started at 10 am with the tasty idlis, golibaje and tea for breakfast. Mukut Mogarnad Vice President Delson D’Silva welcomed the gathering. President Ronald Martis explained to the crowd the motive of founding the association “Mukut Mogarnad” and its future vision.
The committee members comprising Ronald Martis, Delson D’Silva, Secretary Violet D’Souza, Joint Secretary Clarin D’Souza, Treasurer Loyed Lobo, Cultural Secretary Avil D’Silva, Sports Secretary Mukthi Rodrigues and advisers William Lobo, Wilfred Lobo, Maxim Almeida and Sunil Pasanna were introduced to the gathering.
Each and everyone gathered at the feast were happy and excited to catch up with their school and parish friends. The programme was beautifully conducted and managed by Delson D’Silva, which started with a warm up game of “Treasure Hunt” and thereafter, there was an array of games and fun-filled variety of activities that continued till 5 pm. The crowd was divided into four groups and each was given a colour code viz, Orange, Green, Red and Yellow.
With Maximum points Orange team under the captaincy of Nelson Crasta, emerged as the winner of the day.
Lunch comprised of sumptuous Mangalorean delicacies. Tambde Gule, Sukrunde, flutes, horns and whistles added the festive flavour to the celebration.
The programme concluded at 5 pm with distribution of gifts to the winners. Sunil Pasanna proposed a vote of thanks. The organising team was satisfied with the success and the enthusiasm of all the participants. All the parishners gathered, showed keen interest in taking the organisation to new heights and have vouched their support and co-operation for all future events and projects.
