Dubai: Autism Awareness Festival and Walk was held at Zabeel Park from 5pm to 9pm to mark International Autism Awareness Month on April 15.
Visitors participated in a variety of discussions and activities, including a three-kilometre walk to raise awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as interact with children and adults on the spectrum.
The free-to-attend festival also had live music, performances by the Dubai Police band, arts, crafts and games for children, raffle draws and plenty of food.
The event was organised by Dubai-based Child Early Intervention Medical Center, in collaboration with The UAE Red Crescent, Dubai Municipality and Dubai Healthcare City, with Camelicious as the title sponsor.
Many schools and colleges also participated. Over 25 autistic students from Senses Centre for Children with Special Needs also participated along with their volunteers from their centre.
