Dhaka, April 20 (IANS) The annual India-Bangladesh railway cooperation talks will commence Monday in Dhaka to discuss improvement in connectivity between the two neighbours, media reported Saturday.

A three-day additional secretary-level meeting would review railway cooperation between the two countries and “ways and means to improve connectivity and services”, bdnews24.com reported citing the Indian high commission in Dhaka.

The Maitree Express currently operates between Dhaka and Kolkata on a regular basis.

The meeting will discuss measures to make travel more convenient and comfortable.

The Indian high commission said ways of re-opening some old connectivity points such as Birol (Bangladesh)-Radhikapur (India), Chilahati (Bangladesh)-Haldibari (India), and construction of new connectivity points such as Akhaura-Agartala would also be discussed.
