Udupi: The district reels under the tight security, which is ready to face the Lok Sabha elections, tomorrow.
As per the information given by the Muddu Mohan, DC, 9312 polling officials are on duty, of which 4806 in Udupi district and 4506 are in Chikmagalur. And, most of the government officials will be at concerned polling booths from one night prior the election, also sufficient facilities has been arranged to them.
The counting will be held at the T A Pai English Medium High School Kunjeebettu on May 16.
To facilitate the rights of the voter, tomorrow a holiday has been declared. Moreover, 80 percent of voting has been expected in Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency.
EPIC cards are distributed to all voters, Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency has 13,86,515 voters. Out of which 7,11,533 voters from Udupi and 6,74,982 voters from Chikmagalur.
Polling booth will have sufficient facilities for the voters including help desks to guide them.

T A Pai English Medium High School, Kunjeebettu is the mustering and de-mustering center for Udupi,
St. Cecile English Medium PU College in Brahmagiri, Udupi, is the mustering center for Kaup assembly.
Bhandarkar’sCollege in Kundapur will be the mustering and de-mustering center in Kundapur,
Mini Vidhana Soudha is the mustering and de-mustering centre for Karkala.

For the security reason from central para military, forces are deployed at 53 poling booths.
87 mobile police units are deployed in sensitive, hyper sensitive and naxal affected polling stations.
