Newskarnataka – Kollegala
Kollegala : Members of the Nayaka Community resorted to a flash Rasta Roko agitation to condemn the insult to the portrait of Veera Madakari Nayaka by garlanding it with slippers in Alagudu village of T. Narasipura taluk of Mysore.
It is believed that some miscreants had garlanded the portrait with slippers. As news spread like wildfire people gathered at the new bus stand area and resorted to a Rasta Roko on National Highway 209.
The protest disrupted traffic for over half an hour in the area. The local sub-inspector of Police who rushed to the spot, held talks with the protestors and requested them to drop the protest. However, the agitators were adamant that they would not budge until the miscreants were caught.
The police, led by Circle inspector Amarnarayan and Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar managed to convince the protestors to withdraw the protest.
